The Inter-school Educational Research Project by Students for FY2010

Application Guideline

1. Purpose

This program is designed to establish academic exchange networks among postgraduate schools and departments, and to assist students who wish to be excellent researchers with leadership and global perspectives. The Graduate University for Advanced Studies (Sokendai) supports such students wishing to make a project beyond the borders of respective schools or departments, based on Sokendai educational research ideas to bring next generation's researchers.

 

*Cooperative joint research projects related to doctor's course beyond the borders of schools/departments (Cooperation with another university is admitted).

*Workshop, symposium, and research seminars (either domestic or abroad) projected by students

 

2. Qualification requirements

An applicant must be enrolled in the Graduate University for Advanced Studies (current students in 2010 fiscal year).  Please include one Academic adviser/faculty or more in charge of the project.

 

3. Qualification Period

       In 2010 fiscal year

 

4. Amount of grant

Within two million yen per project

 

5. Expenses covered by grant

(1) Expenses that can be allowed/covered

The following necessary expenses to accomplish this project during the duration can be applied for.

[Labor cost] The allowance can be paid to the persons who cooperate and/or support with necessary expertise advice while executing the program.

[Traveling expenses] Expenses which are required to execute the program; necessary traveling expenses i.e. (domestic/foreign travelling expenses, student’s travelling expenses,  invited foreign lecturer’s travelling expenses, etc.)

[Cost of supplies] Expenses which are required to execute the program; necessary supplies i.e. (books, honorarium, consignment expenses, etc.)

(2) Expenses that cannot be allowed/covered

 Any expense that is not directly required for executing the program.

 

6. Application process

(1) Application documents

*Please fill in The Application Form; please mention the purpose of the project, research programs, budget, and reason for recommendation by faculty in charge/academic adviser (Attachment 2)

*The Expenditure details of the amount of applied for "SOKENDAI Inter-school Cooperated Educational Project Expenditure (Education) for FY2010". (Attachment 6)

(2) Application document to be submitted

The necessary documents should be submitted directly by the student(s) or via academic adviser(s) as follows:

7. Report submitting

The granter needs to submit a report of the project within one month after the completion. He/she needs to make a written or oral report(s) if it is requested by the University. When the outcome of the project is published in any format such as a paper, he/she needs to acknowledge clearly that it has been supported by this program.

Held by the Committee of University Management Meeting in Hayama
