[Call for participants] Comprehensive Subject on "Science, Technology and Society II "

【概要】Outline
科学技術が多大な社会的影響をもたらし、またその活動に多額の予算を要する現代の研究者には、科学と社会との関係を深く理解し、自身の研究の意義や社会的インパクトについて説明することが求められる。本授業では、自身の研究や、研究という営み一般が持つ社会的インパクトについて考え、議論する練習を行う。
Because of the huge impacts that science and technology can have on society, as well as the large amount of funding they require, researchers today are required to have a deep understanding of the relation between science and society and to explain the social impact of their research, including its significance for society. This course provides students with an opportunity to consider and discuss the social impacts of their own research and research activity in general.
