In the first two years of 5-year course, the students are required to take "Special Studies on Physical Sciences" where students experience Laboratory Rotation to participate in researches in two (for School of High Energy Accelerator Science) or three (for School of Physical Sciences) different laboratories, for about one month in each lab. Students do the internships under instructions of the research staff of the labs, and are required to submit reports.

Among the two or three labs, students are encouraged to include one lab that is outside of the Department they belong to. With this experience, the students will get broad perspectives and deep professional knowledge on physical sciences simultaneously.
