Historical and Cultural Resource Management Education Program

The historical and cultural resource management course is led by the School of Cultural and Social Studies and aims to develop researchers with a high capability in academic resource management through learning about advanced academic resource management such as methods for reading diverse academic resources, analysis using advanced scientific methods, recording and scientific preservation management of academic resource information, and research presentations using academic resources.

Course Aim

Historical and cultural resources are the foundation of all research, both for the Humanities and Sciences, and it is essential that those involved in research learn the knowledge, skills, and attitudes about their handling. This course takes advantage of the rich materials, information and human resources held by the base institute of the School of Cultural and Social Studies. It provides a characteristic curriculum that aims to help all students involved in research acquire the subjective knowledge of what "resources" are (knowledge), how to handle historical and cultural?resources (knowledge and skills) and how to approach "resources" as a researcher (attitude).

Course Completion Requirements

4 or more credits from the course curriculum are required for completion of the course. The course completion accreditation is carried out by the Historical and Cultural Resource Management Education Program Committee.
Completion of this program is applicable by the end of March 31, 2023. For details, please refer to the attached .

Financial assistance for transportation costs (including partial support if accommodation is required) associated with moving to a different campus than the student's department, or to the lecture hall, for lectures will be supported based on the "SOKENDAI regulations concerning financial support for travel expenses for students participating in regular curriculum activities."
